Photo edits

What started out as a simple photo shoot to have photos to work from for art soon turned into a whole afternoon playing with glasses and bottles and my brand new photo edit apps!

Just the cutest illustration!!

This is just the cutest illustration! I love it! I happened across Karen B.Jones’s blog by pure chance and am so glad I did! Some of her illustrations are fantastic! This one though, has to be my favourite by far! Check it out http://karenbethjones.wordpress.com/

Want to buy a car? I want to draw.

This is possibly my favourite advert ever made. I loved it from the first time I saw it, and only after hours of research into design did I happen across a piece that reminded me of this advert.

While the point of this advert was probably to make viewers want to buy a car, I don’t share that desire after watching this advert but I do have a sudden urge to draw every time I watch this! And it’s not just me…this is one of those pieces of design that just makes those creative people want to draw or paint or design!

So now finally I have a project idea and an excuse to draw like this as well as watch this advert again and again!

Time to start the exams. Seems so early, having only just handed in my last project already it’s time to pick a new topic, have a new idea, start a new project. So here goes the research, which while taking forever and being a time of pure panic with a completely blank mind while my teacher says 30 minutes and you can all tell me what you’re going to do, you should know what you want to do by now, don’t you know yet? The research does have it’s benefits though. So although I still have no ideas for an actual project or anything productive to start doing I  now have a whole list of amazing art and design to look at! This may not be particularly productive or useful but definitely the most fun way to spend my time!

January stress!

So it’s that time of year…not only have I just had my exam (luckily only one until the summer) and coursework deadlines approaching scarily fast but also interviews. Have to admit I’m not enjoying the stress of applying to Colleges and Universities much, the figuring out where, applying on time then portfolios. How are you meant to put together a portfolio to make them go wow, we want them here! Well, o don’t have a clue… if anyone knows then i would love to be enlightened! I have an online portfolio done, so now it’s just the one to take with me! I’m almost there, finally, but scary thoughts now, my interview is 2 days time and i have almost completely lost my voice. Lets hope my work really does speak for itself!

Oxford Street

Not only was this year my first trip to Oxford street but i also made the most of the opportunity by visiting Liberty. I had heard about the beautiful building and the beautiful products on sale but had only ever seen the website.

Getting into the festive mood along with the rest of the area, Liberty have followed the ‘White Christmas’ theme with beautiful window displays.

I loved the products, just wish i could have afforded something!

A London Christmas

Following the yearly tradition, Selfridges, Harrods and the rest of London got into the Christmas spirit, with Christmas lights and window displays. This years theme was ‘white Christmas’ and was truly beautiful. As my first ever visit to Oxford Street let alone my first Christmas visit, it was quite amazing! Definitely a good way to get into the festive mood!

Birthday surprises

So after a long afternoon of baking and the next morning decorating I had plates of cakes ready to surprise my brother on his birthday. Good job I enjoy cooking and cake decorating with how long this collection took me! I was extreemly glad to see that my brother seemed to like them (you can never quite tell with 13 year old boys!) they tasted good anyway, and that’s all that really matters for a birthday tea…lots of good cake!

Not only did my brother have tons of cupcakes but a whole feast! Bowls of sweets, nuts, crisps chocolate bars and of course his main birthday cake made by our mum. His birthday present was paintballing so of course it was a cake of paintball splats, which we just hadf to add eyes too with the theme of ‘this is what you’ll look like tomorrow’.

Why can’t Christmas be sooner?

Christmas is getting closer now…and have to admit I am beginning to get more excited! Just been looking at light boxes and now really hope I do actually get one!!! After listening to my friend rave about hers and how brilliant it is looking it up I really really want one! Looks so good, why can’t Christmas be sooner?!

Modern world of fashion

So modern fashion doesn’t stick to the expectations, dresses have now been made out of most unusual materials. This model dress is a small model made completely of paper. It’s completely beautiful and although made out of a nontraditional  material it’s not quite like the current fashions. This little model dress is absolutely stunning and shows some impressive skill from artist Jolis Paons.
